I Expect You To Die Series

Schell Games
November 2021 (IEYTD Localization Update),
October 2022 (Home Sweet Home),
September 2023 (IEYTD3)
Meta Quest / SteamVR
Unity

The I Expect You To Die series is Schell Games' most famous IP, a series of VR super-spy puzzlebox titles with open-ended puzzle design and easter eggs/hidden objectives aplenty.

My chief responsibility in both IEYTD1 and IEYTD3 was their localization system, both the database powering it and the player-facing UI/UX. For IEYTD3, the localization system was developed alongside the game, but IEYTD1's was added several years after the game launched - it turns out that adding localization into a game retroactively is no easy task, and I had to come up with some pretty crafty workarounds to build the UI/UX seamlessly into the game world.

In addition, I served as the technical director on a short mixed reality experiece titled I Expect You To Die: Operation Home Sweet Home, an early proof-of-concept demo of Meta's then-new roomscale mixed reality API for their Quest headsets.

I Expect You To Die and I Expect You To Die 3 are both available on Steam or the Meta Quest Store. I Expect You To Die: Operation Home Sweet Home is available on the Meta Quest App Lab.
